Building on the successful launch of its video server business and to further extend its broadcast sector reach beyond its core teleprompting pedigree, Autocue has announced the appointment of Paddy Taylor to the newly created position of Sales Manager for Newsroom, Scripting and Video Servers, effective immediately.

For more than 20 years Autocue has sold newsroom, automation and media management products to top-end broadcasters and recently responded to demand for a more affordable end-to-end production system by developing a video server that could be used standalone, or as part of any production system.

Autocue Business Development Director Richard Satchell said, “We have received such positive feedback since the launch of our video server business at IBC 2010 that it became clear that we needed to invest in someone of Paddy’s quality and experience to capitalise on the numerous opportunities that are coming our way in newsroom, scripting and video server sales. His appointment is totally in keeping with our strategic vision to be recognised as far more than a teleprompting company.”

Taylor joins Autocue with 10 years of broadcast and sales experience, including recent roles with Avid and UK System Integrator Digital Garage. Taylor will formally establish Autocue’s video server business and build on recent newsroom successes at Roger’s Network in Canada, Ghana Broadcast Corporation and several media universities in the UK. The appointment forms an integral part of Autocue’s growth strategy to aggressively extend its reach beyond teleprompting within the broadcast and professional video markets.
